The Model Fire Boat Website!
The only searchable site I have ever found on the net dedicated to these boats
Great new resource being developed about the Perkasa fast patrol boat
www.perkasa .co.uk
Really useful site to get a lot of technical information that is not available any where else (original Vosper plans, drawings and technical notes, some more photos of the original boat - including number 94) and meet others with the same interest. This is a private group so you will need to apply to the site admistrator to join - but well worth it!
Yahoo Fireboat Group
Brilliant shop - great for advice. This is where I got most of the fittings for the 46 inch boat and all of the Robbe radio control.

Brilliant service for the decals - including bespoke service.
I have a lot of IC engines - however my favourite is my Merco 61 - a real realiable old work horse. I run it on straight 80:20 methanol/casor & it goes really well
Merco Engines Info page
Local to my work in central London. Often pop in on the way home (5 mins on the Picadilly line from Kings Cross). They are really friendly, helpful and full of good advice. They got me a 30 year old Merco 61 marine engine that had never been run!

LINK NO LONGER WORKS The original owner of the shop designed the crash tender - along with a number of other aerokits boats. The link here will take you to the plans page - including the crash tenders. The plans are not cheap - but a good investment if you want to restore a boat. My 46 inch plans have been invaluable. I beleive that the profile is identical to to original plans for the real boat.

Brentwood Model Boat Club
The model boat club that I belong to. Brilliant private lake, IC and electric lakes. Contact details can be found by following the link.
Superb shop for anything to do with IC boats. I understand that Dave the ownwer is or was a world champion racing boater.
Prestwich Models
Superb shop for advice & really competive pricing. They have most things in stock for Aeroplanes.

The club I joined. Two flying sites - one on Chingford Plains in Epping Forest, plus a private field near Ongar in Essex. Really helpfull, nice people. Joining a club is the only sensible way to learn to fly.

CrashTender
This other Piczo site belongs to another fellow called Neil. You can see photos of the stages of his build of a 34 inch aerokits crash tender. He is a lot more patient than me - doing everything really properly before moving on to the next stage!
