Fixing up the Spitfire (car)
I built this plane from a kit around 10 years ago. At the time I had the time in the evenings to build it, but no time during the day to fly (4 young kids etc) & too be honest I didn't have the nerve either!
Having decided to go about learning to fly, I brought this out of the loft, did a few repairs and reinstalled the radio control.

UPDATE :flew for the first time on 23rd October 2007. Engine too powerful & no down thrust resulted in a stressful time for the test pilots! Will fit a 4-stroke OS.52 with down-thrust to stop the plane climbing every time power is applied.
Specifications
Wingspan:         76.5 in.
Wing Area:       744 sq. ft.
Flying Weight:   7-7.5 lbs.
Fuselage Length: 48 in.
Engine:           SC.75 (12.3cc)
Changed to SC.61 - which is still over powered
going to try four stroke OS.52
Goldberg® Anniversary Piper Cub Kit : the official blub

This kit has become almost as famous as the original airplane! The Anniversary Edition J-3 Cub is a beautiful replica of the original 1935 model and is full of performance possibilities. This is a nice second or third airplane kit after a beginner learns to build and fly trainer airplanes. With its full-span wing and a .40 (2-stroke or 4-stroke), its a scale-like floater. But with a clipped wing and a .60-.90 engine, its an aerobatic thriller. And with anything in between, its just plain terrific. Plus, the Cub’s construction, with far fewer parts than the look-alike kits, is the essence of strength and simplicity, so that even new builders can tackle the job with confidence.
The SC 75 proved too unreliable, so I swapped it out for an OS 60 that I got from e-bay. This was reliable, but terrified the life out of my fellow club members on its test flight as the engine was much too powefull for the plane. I have now fitted an OS 2 stroke 52 - which sounds great - see the video (above) of testing this engine. I also fitted a new cowl - made of fibreglass - from Carbon Copy - after the pictures below were taken, this is a brilliant quality item.
